The City of Poteet is looking for someone to fill the position of Director of Public Works.  

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Public Works Director performs a wide variety of administrative, managerial, and technical duties associated  with  directing  and  overseeing  the  responsibilities  of  the  Public  Works Department  in relation  to  water  distribution,  wastewater  collection/treatment, streets, drainage,  parks,  grounds maintenance, and general facility maintenance.  The Public Works Director receives direct supervision from the City Administrator or his designee.  The Public Works Director is responsible for supervising all public works employees. The first review will be conducted on November 3, 2021 and the position is open until filled.

The City of Poteet is looking for someone to fill the position of Water Laborer.  

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Participates in maintaining the City's water/wastewater systems and related equipment; operates various types of maintenance equipment and tools; prepares maintenance records; assists other City departments; and performs other related duties. The first review will be conducted on November 3, 2021 and the position is open until filled.

The City of Poteet is looking for someone to fill the position of Patrol Officer.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under general supervision, to perform law enforcement and crime prevention work for the protection of life and property; to maintain order, enforce laws and ordinances, protect life and property within the city by performing a combination of duties: suppressant crime patrol, directing traffic, enforcing State and Local Traffic laws, investigating traffic accidents, preparing and serving warrants, processing both juveniles and adults, protecting and processing crime scenes; and to perform general and specific assignments from superior officers in accordance with established rules and procedures. Follow court procedures for municipal, county and district courts. The first review will be conducted on November 3, 2021 and the position is open until filled.

The City of Poteet is looking for someone to fill the position of  Building, Code, Animal Services Compliance.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Performs compliance investigations and enforces the municipal building and zoning code including the minimum housing standards, environmental health, and zoning ordinances. Performs building inspections for permitting and Certificates of Occupancy. Duties also include responding to complaints reported by the public; capturing stray or loose animals, removing dead animals and investigating biting incidents; issuing warnings and citations for animal control ordinance violations; caring for captured animals; cleaning animal shelter facilities and vehicles; euthanizing animals; and testifying in court when required. The first review will be conducted on November 3, 2021 and the position is open until filled.
